The Market
The healthcare supply industry is extremely fragmented and consists of specialized suppliers of products and services for home healthcare and rehabilitation. The Company has recognized that and opportunity exists due to the fragmentation of the industry. Currently, there is not a single corporation or organization which offers a national distribution network in Canada, nor is there a dominant consolidator on the west coast of the US. Consolidation of the industry will provide greater margins through centralized buying, warehousing, distribution and administration systems.
Health care demand remains strong despite economic conditions. The sector's consistency is a key ingredient for the long term investor. Universal Health Sciences Fund has stated to their clients that, "The steadily growing segment of the population that is 50 and older virtually guarantees that health care stocks will not only thrive, but continue to grow."
