Cozy Cottage Interiors country decor

Add a bit of history to your country home. These old bobbins were once used in the textile mills. By the mid 1900's wooden bobbins became a thing of the past. Most bobbins were destroyed or thrown away. Wooden bobbins are now becoming increasingly valuable as they become increasingly rare. Many people use their old bobbins as candle holders. For a great look, have an old basket sitting by the fireplace full of different shapes and sizes!

Old Style Architectural Stars
Architectural stars are from the turn of the century and were once used to attach stabilizing cables at the stress points of buildings. When walking through historical sites look up on the sides of buildings and you will see different styles of building anchors or architectural stars.
Today many people use these stars in various and creative ways to decorate their homes. They may be set flat on a table to be used as a candle holder or place various sizes upright on a window sill. They May also be hung on a wall or simply set upright on a shelf. Old style architectural stars are a great addition to your country home and make for a great conversation piece!
